Children’s Ministry – The Joshua Generation
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6
Children are a gift from God, and with that gift comes the sacred responsibility to raise them in the knowledge and love of Christ. At the Roadmap Ministry International, we believe that every child has a purpose in God’s Kingdom. At Sunday School, children are taught to pray, to read their Bibles daily, and to see Christ Jesus as their ultimate guide—their Roadmap—in every season of life. Through engaging Bible lessons, sermons, worship and praise songs, children are equipped with the tools they need to water their Christian garden. At the end of the year, the children present all that they have learned at the annual Christmas Carol in song, dance, poetry and more!
Our Lord Jesus Christ said in Matthew 18:3, “Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” These words highlight the childlike qualities that are precious to God: simplicity, humility, and purity of heart. Not only are these qualities foundational for children to walk closely with God, but they also call us as adults to model a Christlike life that reflects these virtues before them.
Apostle David calls them the Joshua Generation because we believe these young ones are Leaders of Tomorrow. They are being prepared to rise with courage, faith, and strength, carrying the truth of God into their schools, homes, and the world around them. Just as Joshua led the Israelites into the Promised Land, we believe this generation is called to step boldly into the purposes God has prepared for them, equipped with His Word and empowered by His Spirit.
In a world filled with distractions, there is no greater gift than teaching a child to follow God, who holds their destiny. Sunday School is not just a program, it’s a ministry devoted to shaping hearts, building faith, and raising up children who will walk in the fullness of God’s purpose for their lives.
